The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international, non-governmental, non-governmental, non-profit organization, established in 1993, to promote responsible management of forests and plantations; that is, a respectful management of the environment, in order to protect and maintain the natural communities and forests of high conservation value, socially useful, to respect the rights of the workers of the communities and of the indigenous populations, and satisfactory from the economic point of view. In addition to forest management certification (Forest Management), addressed to forest owners and plantations, FSC® provides certification of forest products traceability aimed at processing companies that work certified material, Chain of Custody certification or CoC), which allows companies to work and sell their certified and FSC® branded products. Compack Srl , FSC® certified, therefore meets the FSC® standards and is authorized to work, transform and resell FSC® products in accordance with the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council®.
Why choose FSC®?
Because more FSC® certified products mean more responsibly managed forests, more forests saved from over-exploitation, less wood from illegal and illegal cuts, more forests where the rights of local populations and workers are respected, more forests in where biodiversity conservation is a priority.
Choosing a Compack product today therefore means receiving answers and indications regarding the use of materials capable of responding to their needs, but coming mainly from responsible supply chains that thus contribute to a correct management of the resource wood.
By choosing companies and products certified by the FSC®, consumers are pushing manufacturers and industries to adopt more responsible behaviors, contributing concretely to a sustainable use of the planet’s forest resources.
